To generate technology standards (250+) that provide quantifiable real-world value to all vertical industries. That is why we are dedicated to bringing together our international membership community of end-users, researchers and vendors in academia government and industry to develop and revise our standards as technologies change over time.

To provide a neutral forum where best practices from a wide range of fields can be discussed and standards can be generated that drive the adoption and innovation of cutting-edge technology spanning industries worldwide. Our Standards Process is fair, robust, transparent, and well-documented, while our standards are implemented everywhere: agriculture (DDS), autonomous vehicles (DDS), avionics (SysML & UML), business (BPMN), energy (DDS), finance (FIBO & FIGI), healthcare (DDS), military (DDS, SysML, UML), retail (UPOS), telecommunications, transportation (DDS), and space (DDS, GEMS, SOLM, XTCE, XUSP). Our one organization-one vote policy ensures that every member organization, despite size, has an effective voice in our voting process.

略歴

  • 1989年
    • 設立
    • 設立当初は、heterogeneous distributed objectの標準作成に焦点を当てていた
      • heterogeneous distributed objectは、互いに依存していない分散されたオブジェクト（特にコンピュータリソース）のこと
      • この年代は、起業様々なアプリケーションを実行するためのコンピュータが数多く使われだした時期であり、それらのオブジェクトをどう接続し、相互運用するかのフレームワークが焦点と思われる

    • オブジェクト指向ソフトウェアエンジニアリングの分野で標準化された汎用モデリング言語であるUML（Unified Modeling Language）を採用技術リストに追加

    • Bostonに国際本部ができる
  • 2005年
    •  Business Process Management Initiative (BPMI.org) とBusiness Modeling and Integration Domain Task Force (BMI DTF)を形成するため、それぞれのBusiness Process Management活動を統合することを発表
  • 2006年
    • Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) を標準として採用
  • 2007年
    • Business Motivation Model (BMM)を標準として採用
      • BMMは、コーポレート ガバナンスと戦略計画のための語彙を提供するメタモデル
  • 2009年
    • Carnegie Mellon大学のソフトウェアエンジニアリング研究機構（Software Engineering Institute）と、Carnegie Mellon launched the Consortium of IT Software Quality (CISQ)を立ち上げ
  • 2011年
    • Cloud Standards Customer Council（CSCC）を立ち上げ
      • CSCC は、クラウドの導入の成功を促進し、クラウドへの移行を取り巻く標準、セキュリティ、および相互運用性の問題を掘り下げることに専念する OMGエンド ユーザー擁護グループ
    • Vector Signal and Image Processing Library (VSIPL) を最新のOMG仕様として採用
      • VSIPLはx86、PowerPC、Cell、NVIDIA GPU など、さまざまなプロセッサアーキテクチャ用に複数のベンダーによって実装されたオープンな信号処理および画像処理ライブラリのAPI
      • 並列処理のサポートが含まれたVSIPL++というAPIもある
  • 2012年
    • CISQの後押しにより翌2013年にかけて、Automated Function Point (AFP) 仕様を採用
  • 2014年
    • Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC)を管理することを発表
